I have a father who works in the sales of pumps and valves; he goes to work every day, works overtime, often returns home in the middle of the night, goes straight to bed as soon as he gets home, and never takes any holidays – he can never spend time playing with me. He is the biggest “scammer” in the world. My father is a liar. He always says that the work isn’t tiring at all; with the air conditioner and fan on, he tells us not to worry about him. But I know that he has to work hard every day, under the scorching sun and in heavy rain, in order to visit more clients and secure deals. My father is a liar. He always says that he has a high income, so we don’t need to save and can buy whatever we want. But I know that he usually hesitates even to take a taxi; he wavers for ages before buying a drink that costs just a few dollars, and he’s reluctant to replace his phone, which he’s been using to contact clients for 3 years. My father is a liar. He always says that he has already eaten outside, and leaves the good food for me and my mom. But I know that he works from morning till night, and sometimes doesn’t even have time to eat fast food; he always keeps stomach medicine in his bag. My father is a liar. He always says that in this world, Mom and I are the most important. But I know that he knows more about his clients than he does about us; he knows everything about the owners, yet often can’t remember what day my birthday is. My father is a liar. He always said he would go out with us on the weekends and take me on roller coasters and bumper cars. But I know that during holidays or weekends, he is busy contacting clients, making plans, and meeting targets. A customer’s phone call would always make him drop us halfway and head to the site, because there were his beloved customers there. But still, I don’t blame him, because I know he is working hard for our family; I don’t hold any grudges against my dad at all. He does this because he is a dedicated pump and valve salesperson! But I’m very worried that one day Dad will be overwhelmed by exhaustion. When helping clients with services, he often gets exhausted. Especially when dealing with difficult landlords and complicated tasks, both his body and mind get very tired. At work, he faced dual pressures, both psychological and mental. Some people’s misunderstandings about this industry, customers’ unreasonable accusations, and strange looks. But he always goes to great lengths to serve each customer, striving to ensure that they can use the equipment smoothly. Colleagues who are reading this, for the sake of their families and their livelihoods, selling pumps, valves, and needles is not an easy task; only those who are determined to succeed can do well: handshake.
