If there are suspicions regarding issues with suction, the first thing to check is whether the pump meets the installation requirements – specifically, the difference in height between the liquid level in the circulation tank and the centerline of the pump’s suction flange. Additionally, a complicated suction pipeline (with too many fittings such as elbows), an insufficient diameter in the pump’s suction pipe, or a clogged filter at the pump inlet can all lead to high water resistance. Excessive vibration in the pump may also be an issue; if judging by the sound, this could be caused by an excessive discharge volume or flow rate. It’s also necessary to check the pressure at the pump’s outlet as well as the pressure in the circulation water network.
