Activated carbon for decolorization and deodorization

Dear friends from Sichuan, we’re facing some issues in production right now; please help us out with your advice. Question: During the production process, a water-soluble alcoholic organic compound was partially oxidized due to high temperatures, resulting in the product turning dark yellow and having a strong odor; the normal product should be colorless and odorless. We currently use activated carbon for adsorption, but due to its dark color, a large amount of activated carbon is required to turn the liquid colorless; sometimes it needs to be added two or three times before the liquid becomes colorless and odorless. I would like to ask if there are any better ways to remove color and odor?
I’m not sure what product it is; could antioxidants be considered, or could hydrogen peroxide be used alongside activated carbon?
