Briefly explain the principle of using flotation to remove pollutants from wastewater.
Flotation is a process that uses highly dispersed tiny bubbles as carriers to attach to the pollutants in wastewater, reducing their density so that they float to the surface and enabling the separation of solids from liquids or of different liquids from each other. Flotation relies primarily on the principle of surface tension to cause solid pollutants in wastewater to adhere to small bubbles.
