Hello everyone, I’ve run into a problem recently – I’m not sure what pressure rating the valve I need to purchase should have. Could you please help me figure this out? This globe valve is specified to have a design pressure of 15 bar and an operating pressure of 2 bar, but there’s also a valve rating of 800#. Does this mean that a pressure of 800 LB is required? Logically, it should only be 600 and 900 LB – can someone help me figure this out?
Your 800 has nothing to do with pressure, right?
Actually, when I looked at the flow diagrams, I saw that the pressures were all high – basically 600 LBS. So I think what’s specified later is correct, but the design pressure specified earlier conflicts with this value; I’m not sure about it.
If that’s the case, it’s easy to understand – just buy one with a valve pressure rating of 900LB
What kind of valve is this? If it’s a ball valve, with such a small diameter, it won’t be expensive even for high pressures
It’s not a matter of status; the contract must meet the user’s requirements – not just 1 or 2 stop valves, but many. On a per-unit basis, it has a significant impact on costs.
You need to discuss this with the user; my colleagues in the factory don’t have a unified opinion either
What I know is: it is a ball globe valve with a socket weld connection, DN25 (pressure to be determined), made of material A182-F316, featuring a handwheel, a stem-mounted design, and a valve cover secured by bolts. To avoid everyone guessing randomly
