Both the pressure gauge and transmitter must be subjected to a standard pressure, and this requires disassembly; on-site calibration is not necessary. The working environment usually isn’t suitable for such calibration, making it very inconvenient. In some places, it’s not even clear where to place the standard testing equipment; What’s called on-site calibration these days simply involves installing a three-way valve at the site; it’s even given a fancy name of “professional on-site calibration fitting,” which seems like a form of deception – it’s completely unnecessary.

Local pressure gauges are simpler – just connect a precise digital display to measure the pressure and check whether the values of the two are similar. Transmitters are more complicated; which manufacturer’s calibrator are you using?
