Regarding the color of lubricating oil

My equipment uses BP32 lubricant. After some time, the color of certain pumps turns brown, with a darker shade; in other pumps, the color changes to something similar to orange peel after use. Are both of these color changes caused by oxidation? What is especially the cause of the orange peel color?
There are specific requirements regarding the color of lubricating oil, which can be determined through color comparison; however, the underlying cause is not necessarily oxidation – it could be the presence of contaminants such as mud, or the intrusion of other substances into the lubricant.
Oxidation, high temperatures, impurities, moisture, and the like can all cause oil to change color. It’s better to conduct an analysis to check whether some of the oil indicators are normal.
