As the title suggests, how are the control values for tower top deflection generally determined? How much is appropriate?
First, follow the owner’s specifications or the unified project requirements; if none are available, refer to Appendix of SH3098-2011
There is no qualitative data available for this; generally, different regulations apply to different projects, and the requirements for packed towers and plate towers are likely to vary as well. The old HG standards provide reference values, and the appendices of the SH standards also contain such information.
