For the qualification upgrade of Units D1 and D2 to Category A2, the basic drawing data specifies both the pressure for hydraulic testing and that for airtightness testing. Should both types of tests be conducted during manufacturing, or is it sufficient to perform just one of them? I’m using drawings from another source; if I don’t understand them well, I hope the teachers can give me some guidance. Design pressure: 1.77 MPa; Hydrostatic test pressure: 2.32 MPa; Airtightness test pressure: 1.77 MPa
There is another question: since we are developing this product for upgrading purposes, is it still necessary to include a product name plate? Personally, I think it’s not necessary to obtain them (the plaque manufacturing licenses D1 and D2); I’m not sure if this is correct. Please give me some guidance.

The hydraulic test is a type of pressure resistance test, while the airtightness test is a type of leakage test; they are two different inspection methods with distinct focuses. The specifications require that both be carried out. (When leakage tests must be conducted is clearly stated in the relevant regulations; for example, in the case of extremely or highly hazardous media, even trace leaks are not allowed, etc.)
As for the product nameplate, it can be made, but the device must pass the evaluation before final inspection and release from the factory; at that point, I think the nameplate should indicate the A2 certification.
Both pressure testing and airtightness testing must be carried out. The product nameplate also needs to be properly prepared and installed on the equipment.
Both need to be done: one is the pressure test, and the other is the leak test.
