As the title suggests, regarding the classification of explosion zones in LPG processing plants, which specialty is usually responsible for this task? What categories do the spherical tank areas and the vehicle loading/unloading areas fall under, and what are the criteria used for such classification?
As the title suggests, regarding the classification of explosion zones in LPG processing plants, which specialty is usually responsible for this task? What categories do the spherical tank areas and the vehicle loading/unloading areas fall under, and what are the criteria used for such classification? The classification of hazardous explosive areas is determined based on the requirements set by the storage and transportation specialty (in this case), with the electrical specialty carrying out the actual classification. The spherical tank area and the loading/unloading area are classified as Class A.
The process engineering department sets the requirements, while the electrical engineering department is responsible for the division. The spherical tank area and the loading/unloading area may be classified as Zone 1. Specifically, it is classified in accordance with GB 50058-2013 Code for Design of Electrical Installations in Explosive Atmospheres.
Generally, it is the design institute that determines the explosion hazard zones and classifies the qualifications of various entities
Make clear distinctions during design, and arrange electrical equipment and safety facilities according to different areas.
