As the economic benefits associated with environmental development gradually diminish, the strategy of pursuing economic growth at the expense of the environment has become increasingly problematic. The resulting environmental issues keep emerging, and restrictions on emissions are becoming stricter. Restrictions on the fuel used in small-capacity boilers have evolved from coal to biomass and then to gas, leading to a significant increase in production costs for enterprises and even forcing some of them to close down. In the long run, it is an inevitable trend that small-capacity boilers will be replaced by larger ones, with centralized heating representing a typical development direction. However, there will inevitably still be some cases where this approach cannot be adopted due to certain objective reasons. So, what will be the future of industrial boilers?
At present, **there is a strong push to promote the use of natural gas, but numerous problems exist in its actual application:**
1. The layout of natural gas pipelines; the penetration rate is not high; 2. Corporate costs have increased significantly ; 3. The boiler has a relatively small capacity in terms of tons ; 4. The issue of reserves: for industrial use, the consumption is too high, making it unrealistic in the long term.
For businesses, the most fundamental considerations are cost and profit. The increasingly strict environmental regulations force many companies to engage in questionable practices: where rules require the use of clean energy sources such as biomass, those areas without specific environmental requirements use fuels like wood or rice husks instead, or they reserve biomass fuel while actually using other illegal fuels. and so on
It seems that in urban areas, boilers used for heating (in office buildings, hotels, factories) are now mostly powered by gas, or use a combination of fuel and gas. However, the capacity is generally below 10 t/h, and hot water boilers are also mostly below 4.2 MW. But they are all quick-install boilers.
