I lost my computer; how can I get it back?

A colleague took flight G52780 from Wuzhou Changzhou Island to Longdongbao, Guizhou, on July 7, 2016; upon arriving, they found their Microsoft Surface laptop missing. Called the airline, and they replied that there were no lost items. Um, how do I get it back? Dear sailors everywhere, please help think of a solution. . .
I’ll probably have to buy a new one. The old must go if the new is to come. :lol
I also think it’s better to buy a new one; if it gets stolen, the chances of recovering it are very low. It’s better to sacrifice some money to avoid trouble...
I think this method isn’t very feasible unless it’s foreign friends
Call the police. . Then buy a new one. . Because it will be at least half a year before Uncle JC gets the computer back. . .
If you know the head or deputy head of the airport police, or a relative of any of them, or some *official there (including their relatives), then there won’t be any problem at all
It was stolen there; the 2Kg notebook should have been kept in a carry-on bag. . .
It’s basically impossible to recover it; a colleague has had a similar experience.
Sigh. It’s mainly the things inside. . .
