Whether a sight glass can be installed on the pump filter

Seeking advice: The property owner wants to install sight glasses on the pump filter exhaust line to facilitate monitoring of the exhaust conditions. I’ve heard of accidents involving the explosion of such sight glasses – are there any regulations that prohibit their use? How are the pump filter and exhaust settings configured?
No. Regarding the issue of exhaust at the top of the basket filter at the pump inlet, I proposed adding a vent there years ago, but this has yet to be implemented. Fortunately, we are using a water-based medium; after cleaning the filter, we filled it with water and then sealed it, and there were no problems thereafter.
The key issue is the sealing performance; air leakage causes severe cavitation in the pump, preventing it from functioning properly.
I work in the field of filters; to monitor the exhaust conditions, it’s best to install a pressure gauge. As for sight glasses, they do pose safety risks
It depends on the parameters of your pump; as long as it can meet the requirements regarding pressure, temperature, corrosion, etc., and proper sealing is in place, you can give it a try! But I think even with tap water as the medium, after some time it’s likely that the sight glass will no longer be clear.
