The air separation cycle water pump on our side is designed in two phases, and it also supplies water to other compressors. There is plenty of headroom. Initially, I wanted to change the frequency, but I ran into a problem: changing the frequency of the circulating water pump would cause a significant drop in pressure. Are centrifugal pumps unable to have their frequency adjusted at all? Additionally, during the initial operation the pressure in the air compressor was 0.3 MPa; now, due to adjustments in the water volume used by the compressor, the pressure has risen to 0.36 MPa, and it is planned to reduce the pressure of the circulating water pump. So I have a question: is it more effective to keep the circulation water pump outlet open, or is it more effective to have the circulation water circuit active before starting the air compressor? Is it also feasible to change the frequency of the circulating water pump?
Generally, the outlet valve of the circulating water pump does not need to be fully opened; it is necessary to consider the performance curve and pressure levels to ensure that the pump’s outlet pressure remains at the designed value. If the system pressure is high, the return valves of each heat exchanger can be opened further.
Adjust the outlet valve of the circulating water pump, and fine-tune the bypass valve (parameters can be set for adjustment via DCS or PLC)
