Of the project related to the external evaporation ponds at Shenhua Ningmei Coal-to-Oil Plant, 2 out of 4 external buffer tanks have been constructed; 5 out of 20 various types of ponds for the evaporation process have been built as well. 13 out of 58 dam structures have been excavated. At present, plans for earthwork excavation and blasting operations, along with specific technical measures, are being developed. The project covers an area of approximately 1 million square meters and is mainly divided into three zones: evaporation ponds, off-site buffer tanks, and hazardous waste solidification sites. The construction includes various components such as buffer tanks, regulation tanks, saturated evaporation ponds, crystallization ponds, high-concentration brine transmission pipelines, dry salt fields, hazardous waste landfills, and hazardous waste solidification workshops.
The construction of evaporation ponds by coal chemical enterprises should be strictly prohibited! Such short-sighted behavior will harm the local environment and harm future generations!
The scale of construction for the evaporation ponds is quite large.
Which company is responsible for the subsequent management of Shenhua’s evaporation ponds? I’m eager to recommend mechanical evaporators to them; could someone give me some advice? :)
Third-party maintenance is no problem; there are already successful cases of coal chemical parks where the management rights have been tendered out. But in the end, if the evaporation pond fails to meet the designed evaporation efficiency, it is unclear who is responsible for the problem of overflow. I guess the property owner still needs to come up with practical measures to enable the evaporation pond to fulfill its intended function. I’m not sure if my understanding is correct
The mechanical method is still better; it isn’t affected by climate changes, and its quality is easier to control.
