Use safety barriers for power distribution to isolate the power supply between the field and the control room. 3. By \"passive,\" it is meant that no external power supply is required; the output signal of the instrument itself is 4–20 MA. When configuring the wiring in a PLC or DCS, it should be noted that all analog channels can be passive or active.
