A brief introduction to experience in the environmental assessment engineer exam

First of all, I’m very happy to tell everyone that I have successfully passed my environmental assessment engineer exam. Looking back on these two years of preparation, I feel it’s necessary for me to share my experiences in order to thank those who have helped me, as well as as a gift for those who will take this exam in the future. I’m not a specialist in environmental impact assessment; my field of study is chemical engineering. In 2015, someone told me that I could also take the exam to become an environmental impact assessment professional. Then I searched on Baidu for information on the application requirements, exam subjects, question types, and of course, the benefits of obtaining the certificate. Then I bought materials online and studied while working for about 4 months; I spent no more than an hour studying each day. My scores in 2015 were 109–89–79–72 – I only passed the case study, but I think I should have passed the first three subjects as well, though I failed the case study. In retrospect, it was because the materials I bought were incorrect (a simplified textbook plus the methods and guidelines for 800 practice questions); for the case studies, I only worked through the real exam questions twice and memorized some phrases, mainly using Teacher Jia’s book. When I retaken the exam in 2016, I bought three authentic textbooks, only to realize that many of the concepts weren’t covered in those simplified versions. I urge everyone to purchase authentic textbooks; I didn’t buy any practice questions anymore. Instead, I downloaded past exam papers from the Internet to work on. Of course, it was very stressful, as failing in the case study section would mean my scores would be invalidated. This year, when taking the regulations exam, I felt extremely dizzy; I handed in my paper right away after finishing it, not wanting to check it for fear of making mistakes.
