If there is internal leakage in the desalinated water valve, it needs to be replaced. However, that valve is made of white steel, and there are no such valves available in the spare parts inventory now. Is it possible to use a cast steel valve as a substitute? Will that have any impact?
I don’t know what you mean by white steel
White steel is the common name for high-speed steel. If replacing it, 316 would be more suitable (just a beginner’s opinion for reference only)
I understand that by \"white steel\" the poster is referring to stainless steel, such as 304, 316, etc. Stainless steel is used in desalinated water pipelines to prevent contamination by iron ions caused by corrosion. If the water-using entity has low requirements, cast steel can be used as a temporary substitute; it can be purchased promptly and then replaced later.

Using stainless steel when there are chloride ions is a mistake
White steel is nothing other than stainless steel; I’ve never seen stainless steel used in demineralized water or deoxygenated water systems, nor have I seen it used for valves or pipelines.

The deionized water has very low chloride levels (<1PPM) and a pH of 6-7; therefore, using stainless steel is the best choice
In case of an emergency, it can be used temporarily; it will be replaced once the new valve is purchased. The pH of ionized water is 6–7, showing weak acidity
