Although the alkylation oil market saw a peak and subsequent decline this week, the drop in the price of C4 compounds after etherification was significant, providing plants with a good profit margin. As of this Thursday, the price of alkylated oil is 5,300–5,350 yuan per ton, while the price of tetrahydrocarbons after etherification is 4,050–4,100 yuan per ton. Calculated based on the daily costs and product prices, the average weekly profit for Shandong’s alkylation units this week, after deducting processing costs (excluding waste acid treatment and taxes), was 230 yuan per ton.
The market is bearish on the future outlook for alkylated oil prices, with expectations that the profits of alkylation plants will decline next week.
