I would like to ask everyone: at present, what types of corrosion and scale inhibitors for circulating water are commonly used? Is it a phosphorus-based one? Are there any industrial applications for silicon-based and molybdenum-based materials?
Do you know what components are in this composite formula?
Molybdenum-based ones are way too expensive; generally, organic phosphorus is used
Currently, in terms of circulating water scale inhibitors, phosphonate-based ones are the predominant type. The main components are organic phosphates, polycarboxylic acids (acrylic polymer series), zinc salts, polyphosphates, etc. The water quality varies from one enterprise to another, as do the components and formulations used. By \"fully organic,\" it is meant that the formulation consists of only the first two components, with no inorganic zinc salts or polyphosphates present. Molybdate and silicon-based agents are corrosion inhibitors and do not have scale-inhibiting effects. Molybdate is mainly used in closed systems and belongs to the oxide film type of corrosion inhibitors. Silicon-based types are used very rarely; they belong to the category of precipitation film-type corrosion inhibitors.
There are now composite versions available, but those based on phosphorus are definitely better. We have tried the composite versions and found that their performance is not as good as that of the phosphorus-based ones.
