Kaifeng Air Separation started up and commissioned the CO-H2 cryogenic separation unit designed to support the production of 220,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol at Yangmei Shenzhou. On the 2nd, qualified products such as CO and hydrogen-rich gas were produced, with the quality of all these products meeting or exceeding the design specifications. The device includes a molecular sieve pre-purification system, a CO-H2 separation cryogenic tank, a CO compressor, etc. The purity of the CO product is required to be above 98.5%, while the hydrogen content must be below 100 ppm. On August 6, Kaifeng Air Separation Group Co., Ltd. reported that the CO-H2 cryogenic separation unit installed for the production of 220,000 tons of ethylene glycol at Yangmei Shenzhou has been operating smoothly for 5 days; the CO and hydrogen-rich gas produced by this unit ； The quality of all products meets or exceeds the design specifications ； It is the first domestically produced CO-H2 cryogenic separation unit to achieve successful operation in China to date.
Cryogenic methods are now the mainstream for large-scale coal-based syngas separation, and it is believed that domestic technology will become increasingly mature.
