““comm fail” issue

Recently, the factory has been experiencing frequent power outages; the system resets to its initial state, all equipment stops working, the level gauges lose their data, and errors occur in the DELTA V system program. I checked the PI data and found that during fault periods, the PI data shows the error message “comm fail”; however, a fault does not necessarily occur whenever this message appears. Therefore, it’s not clear whether this is the root cause. . .
Is comm fail the same as communication fail? It would be best to upload a screenshot of the diagnosis interface.
Communication failures are common; for example, due to interference, insufficient shielding resistance, or a humid environment. It’s normal for the equipment to stop working. But I’ve never seen data loss; I don’t understand why. Data may be lost unless the controller loses power or something similar happens.
