The advanced purification technology for coke oven gas developed by the Northwest Chemical Industry Research Institute has been successfully applied once again. Author/Source: Date: 2016-08-04; Clicks: 8. Recently, this technology, along with the proprietary catalysts associated with it, was successfully utilized in the project carried out by Hebei Zhongxiang Energy Co., Ltd., which involves converting 120,000 Nm3/h of coke oven gas into LNG, as well as converting 8.11 t/h of hydrogen-rich waste gas into liquid ammonia. The project of Hebei Zhongxiang Energy Co., Ltd. involves an investment of 2.5 billion yuan, and it represents the largest single-unit facility for converting coking gas into LNG in the world at present. The successful operation of this device fully demonstrates the advancement and reliability of the hospital’s deep purification technology for coke oven gas, as well as its proprietary catalyst technology. Since 2002, the institute has been engaged in the research, development, and design of advanced purification technologies for coke oven gas, as well as catalytic purifiers for it. Since its successful development, this technology has been adopted in industrial applications on a scale of over a hundred units, thanks to its advanced and mature manufacturing processes, excellent product performance, and ease of operation. Among these applications, more than a dozen units are used for converting coke oven gas into natural gas (LNG/SNG), bringing significant economic benefits to the companies that use it. Meanwhile, this technology was awarded the First Prize in Science and Technology of Shaanxi Province for 2010, as well as the First Prize for scientific and technological achievements by Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co., Ltd.
