In what situations are directly mounted pressure transmitters suitable, and when should pressure tapping types be used?
In locations such as long-distance pipelines and tank farms where there is ample space for pipeline installation, direct-mount pressure transmitters and similar process devices are suitable; when the pipelines are arranged closely together, pressure tap types are more appropriate
For media that are ordinary in nature, direct-installation transmitters are suitable as they are easy to install, maintain, and use. If the media tends to crystallize, is viscous, is installed at a high location, or makes maintenance difficult, then pressure-transferring types should be used
Anything that is not specified in the standards can be used. Direct-mounted pressure transmitters are simpler to install.
The main considerations are maintenance requirements and freeze prevention in winter.
