The rated operating pressure of the power plant boiler is 3.82 MPa. Due to long-term operation, the water wall tubes have suffered severe local wear, with some having a wall thickness of less than 3 mm. The welder meets the required qualifications; if this water wall tube is to be replaced, is it necessary to go through any notification procedures?
According to the Regulations on Safety Supervision of Boilers, regarding the scope of major repairs for Class A boilers, the provision corresponding to the replacement of the water wall should be “the replacement of more than 50% of the entire set of heating surfaces”. If the area of the replaced water wall does not account for more than 50% of the total water wall area, it is not considered a major repair to the boiler, and no notification procedures are required.
There’s absolutely no need for it. Trust me – this isn’t a major repair, let alone installation or modification
