【Q&A Question 112】August 10, 2016: The pressure gauge at the outlet of the circulation pump was faulty. Describe the steps for calibrating the gauge, as well as the possible issues that may arise. Contact the instrument, issue a work order, and calibrate the instrument. The surge valve may open fully, resulting in an increased amount of hydrogen mixed into the reactor and causing a spike in temperature.

First, close the root valve that measures the pressure. Then correction is performed. A possible problem is that the valve does not close properly, resulting in leakage of recycled hydrogen.
First, remove the pressure gauge, calibrate it using a standard pressure gauge, attach a certificate of conformity once calibration is complete, and then reinstall it. If issues arise during calibration, they can often be repaired and the gauge can be used again; otherwise, if it’s too damaged to be repaired, it must be replaced with a new one.
If either the on-site gauge or the remote-transmitted gauge is inaccurate, the system pressure and the accurate one of these gauges can be used as a reference. Proper safety measures must be in place when discharging the medium
