How can the pressure vessel manufacturing industry quickly advance toward China’s Intelligent Manufacturing 2025!
There are thousands of container manufacturing plants across the country, and their technologies are generally mature; there’s probably some overcapacity. Entering China’s intelligent manufacturing sector is no easy task
There is indeed some overcapacity in the production of pressure vessels; small companies can obtain the necessary qualifications and hire additional skilled welders in order to start manufacturing. However, the quality of their products and the standard of service they offer are likely to be inferior to those of established large enterprises. Their only advantage lies in lower prices. But these days, there is a focus on product, service, and overall customer experience; if companies approach customer development from different angles and place emphasis on the customer experience, it is still possible to open up new marketing channels. As for intelligent manufacturing, it will take another 30 years to achieve progress in this area, and not many companies are currently able to implement automated production processes.
If pressure vessel manufacturers cannot maintain a certain level of profitability, it is impossible for them to invest in technological and equipment upgrades, let alone pursue smart manufacturing. There are countless manufacturing companies, but very few business opportunities available; with so many competitors and limited resources, how can smart manufacturing in the pressure vessel industry even be considered?
In my company, the horizontal rectangular autoclaves that are produced fall under the categories of pressure vessels and medical devices. Currently, PLCs are used for controlling these devices. To achieve intelligent manufacturing, most of the welding work is still done manually; if the production scale is to be expanded, welding robots can be used to replace manual welding
Expanding the scale requires a substantial amount of business; otherwise, it is not economically viable. Intelligent production on pressure vessels requires a certain volume of production; otherwise, productivity cannot be improved.
