Mechanical seals come in single-face mechanical seals and double-face mechanical seals. Could those of you who are experienced in this field please explain? 1. In double-face mechanical seals, the self-priming medium and white oil act on both faces; will these two mediums mix with each other? Could the white oil get into the pump? 2. Some water pumps with relatively low operating temperatures have mechanical seals that feature only self-flushing functionality and no white oil tank; are such seals of the single-face type?
Double-end face types include pressurized and non-pressurized ones; in the pressurized double-end face type, white oil leaks into the pump, while in the opposite case, ignition is more likely to occur. Pumps with low temperatures are basically single-end face.
Self-flushing is the process of flushing the seal chamber; it can be applied to both single-face and double-face seals. Do you mean that the white oil is a sealing fluid? If it is a sealing fluid, it won’t get in as long as the liquid-contacting surface doesn’t leak.
