I need help figuring out where to start with the moving equipment for the EO unit

This post was last edited by A Le on 2016-10-31 at 17:00. I am now in charge of the mechanical equipment for the newly built EO (ethylene oxide) plant; I have no prior experience with this type of equipment. Could anyone advise me on where to start when working with such equipment?
Aren’t all moving equipment more or less the same? Even though the various devices differ, the principle is the same; first understand the principle, and then consider how to use it, and so on
First, look at the process flow, then examine the working principle of the pumps, and afterward study the accompanying documentation for the equipment.
The equipment process packages in the process design should all be designed, right? Just choose according to that option.
The process provider will provide the specifications and requirements, while the design institute will handle the detailed design; if it’s SEI, SSEC, or Jilin Institute, there are basically no issues. As the client, it’s sufficient to be familiar with the process, various parameters, and the methods for operation and maintenance
Equipment selection is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the process package and the conditions of the design institute; the equipment used for installation, operation, and maintenance later on is of a general type, so there’s nothing much to say about it
The key is to combine process equipment with an understanding of the specific requirements of the process, so that equipment management can be carried out in a targeted manner
