Regarding the recovery of steam condensate in the workshop, I’ve always thought that a significant amount of heat is being wasted. Here’s what happens: 12 kilograms of steam are used in a reboiler and then enter a small tank where they flash; the gas phase goes into a pipeline carrying 5 kilograms of steam, while the liquid phase passes through a steam trap and enters a recovery tank. The 5 kilograms of steam then go to other reboilers or heat exchangers, and after passing through steam traps, they also end up in the recovery tank. The condensate in this tank, at around 100 degrees Celsius, is pumped to another location for reuse. The recovery tank is at atmospheric pressure, and there is a pipe similar to a chimney on top of it for venting exhaust gases, with a fairly large volume of exhaust gas being released. I’m looking for ways to recycle this waste heat. Dear experts, does anyone have any good suggestions?
Recovering heat is relatively easy to achieve, but it depends on where in the workshop this heat can be utilized – for example, whether it can be used for preheating process media or even for heating the control room
If it is a atmospheric deaerator, it is recommended to connect it to the deaerator gas balance pipe
Add a heat exchanger at the location of the chimney, so that the steam can be recovered
Can it be turned into 3 kilograms of steam, so that there is very little heat left in the waste steam?
5 kilograms of steam, after passing through the reboiler, can still be fed into a 1-kilogram system, thereby heating systems that do not require a very high temperature.
As for the current situation of large displacement, it is possible to consider adding a pure water pipeline to the atmospheric pressure tank in order to supply pure water for steam recovery; of course, this is only feasible if this condensed water can be put to use, otherwise it will only lead to increased losses of pure water.
We have a 3-kilogram steam pipeline system. What you mean is to replace the chimney with a pipeline that connects directly to this 3-kilogram steam pipeline system. Would this have an impact on the reboiler that uses 5-kilogram steam?
An additional secondary desalination water pipeline was added in the middle and lower sections of the chimney; however, under normal conditions the amount of condensate water remains balanced, and adding more water would result in an excess.
If a large amount of 3 kilograms is needed, just use 5 kilograms by feeding it directly from the steam pipe. Anyway, it’s the same whether it’s used there for steam recovery
Add an air-cooled finned-tube heat exchanger, using cooling tower water as the cold source! !
