Aluminum sheets can corrode and change color when exposed to corrosive gas environments, losing much of their brightness after one or two years; in such environments, glass cloth is a more economical and suitable choice. In short, when choosing a solution, it is necessary to take into comprehensive consideration factors such as one’s company’s production environment, investment requirements, and maintenance needs.
An outer primer can be considered, followed by a silicate board, waterproofing protection with exterior tarps, and finally 3 layers of glass fiber cloth, with topcoat applied. It’s not expensive and quite practical: lol
The outer wall of the steam pipeline can be coated with a temperature-resistant zinc silicate primer, which provides certain resistance to heat and corrosion. If there are aesthetic requirements as well, glass fiber cloth is wrapped around the pipeline before applying the desired colored paint. For some pipelines in industrial facilities that require maintenance, galvanized iron sheet can be wrapped around the insulation layer; however, this increases the cost significantly.
