In one of our company’s sulfuric acid circulation pumps, when sulfuric acid of a different concentration is added to the tank, the pressure at the pump’s outlet decreases, and as a result, the flow meter downstream shows no flow I want to ask if any of you sea friends know the reason?
It shouldn’t be that; the pump worked fine before, but it stopped working after adding acid of a different concentration.

1. Assume that the tank originally contained 98% sulfuric acid, and 50% sulfuric acid was added. Condition: As the temperature of the sulfuric acid liquid increases, its viscosity decreases and its specific gravity also decreases. Conclusion: In principle, as long as the temperature is appropriate, there is no problem with the pump. If the temperature is too high, there are problems with both sealing and net positive suction head. 2. Assume that the tank originally contained 50% sulfuric acid, and 98% sulfuric acid is added. Condition: As the temperature of the sulfuric acid liquid increases, its viscosity and specific gravity increase as well. Conclusion: Excessively high specific gravity causes motor overload; increased viscosity leads to a lower head (pressure); excessive temperature results in issues with sealing and the net positive suction head.
Is the sulfuric acid concentration that the poster used higher or lower than before? If a higher-concentration substance is used, will the specific gravity increase, resulting in insufficient motor power?
It sometimes becomes thicker and sometimes thinner. I would like to ask whether an uneven distribution of acidity in the pipeline could cause the pump not to function properly.
