What type of structure does the butterfly valve used in water treatment have? Single eccentric structure? Dual eccentric structure? Eccentric structure? Three-eccentric structure? What are the differences between these structures? Please give me some advice, thank you
For water treatment, medium-line butterfly valves are generally used; if money permits, two-eccentric butterfly valves can be employed. The friction of double-eccentric butterfly valves is much lower than that of centerline butterfly valves. In terms of service life, double-eccentric valves are superior, but their price is about twice that of centerline butterfly valves.
In fact, it still depends on the properties of the medium. Generally, butterfly valves with soft seals in the middle section are more commonly used. When temperature and impurities in the medium are a concern, one needs to take into account the size and hardness of these impurity particles; in such cases, a three-eccentric butterfly valve with a metal hard seal might be necessary. It’s important to first understand the operating conditions thoroughly.
