I. Regular Maintenance Valves that are not in use for extended periods should be inspected and maintained regularly to prevent rusting and damage. Valves that have been idle for an extended period should be pressure-tested together with the equipment, fixtures, and pipelines to ensure they pass the test before being put into use. II. Protection measures Prevent collisions with other objects, as well as manual handling and disassembly. When necessary, fix the moving parts of the valve and wrap it to provide protection. III. Corrosion Protection Remove the packing from the stuffing box to prevent electrochemical corrosion of the valve stem. On areas such as the valve sealing surface, valve stem, valve stem nut, and machined surfaces, apply rust inhibitors or lubricant as appropriate; rust-proof paint should be applied to those areas that require painting. IV. Complete the valve components When valve components are missing, it is not possible to make repairs on the spot; instead, the components must be obtained to create favorable conditions for future use and to ensure that the valve remains in good condition. V. Cleaning the valve The interior of the valve should be thoroughly cleaned by blowing out any remaining substances or liquid solutions; the exterior of the valve should also be wiped clean to remove any dirt, oil, or dust.
