I would like to ask the teachers: in doctoral studies, in what specific way do phenols affect the detection of thiol compounds? Is it its presence that causes coloration, thereby making it impossible to determine whether the coloration is due to thiol or phenols? Or does its presence cause no color formation during thiol detection, resulting in the possibility of thiol presence going undetected? I haven’t come across this testing item before; could everyone give me some advice? Thank you!
