What are the two ends of the balance pipe of the coking compressor connected to? What is its function?
The outlets and inlets are also connected to the primary seal gas, which helps to balance the axial thrust and maintain the pressure in the seal chamber
The balance tube connects the inlet of the compressor to the low-pressure side of the balance drum, thereby generating an axial force on the balance drum directed toward the outlet, in order to counteract the axial thrust of the rotor.
Each compressor is designed differently; those from our company don’t require this feature, as it is used to balance axial forces. When the outlet pressure is higher than the inlet pressure, axial forces are generated, and the downside is that efficiency decreases somewhat
