Could some expert please explain the process flow of the ethylene project, especially regarding the heat treatment section? I would be very grateful

Well, I just want to know about the manufacturing process; specifically, what is the main function of the heating area?

Ethylene projects can be divided into two main categories based on raw materials: petrochemical ethylene and coal-based ethylene. Petrochemical ethylene is produced by the high-temperature cracking of light hydrocarbons, which yields a mixture of olefins as well as small molecular alkanes and alkynes; through separation and conversion, the alkynes can be transformed back into olefins. The remaining alkanes can be reused. Typical processes include ABB-Lummus, Linde, Stone-Webs, etc. Coal-based ethylene is actually produced through a coalification process: first, syngas is obtained, which is then used in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis to produce the relevant raw materials (primarily methanol). Subsequent cracking yields mixed olefins; depending on the choice of cracking catalyst and process conditions, the product can be predominantly propylene or a mixture of olefins. Additionally, for the method of producing olefins directly from syngas, there are currently only process research reports; no industrial or practical applications have yet been developed.
