What are the consequences of a sudden shutdown of a centrifugal compressor without external supply of sealing air?
Is a dry gas seal being used? Then the dry gas seal is done
A backup gas source is usually provided; if not, replace the dry gas seal~~~~
Low seal gas flow rate and low pressure can both cause the compressor to shut down in a cascade manner; at such times, the seal gas required by the compressor is essentially not available. Dry grinding of the stationary and rotating rings in a dry gas seal during a short period of time (the coasting time) does not cause damage to the seal, so LZ need not worry too much. The damage to the seal caused by the shutdown due to the seal gas interlock is far less severe than the damage caused to the seal by prolonged shaft turning of the unit
