Everyone: Addressing VOC emissions is an urgent task at present. Although the gas released from the methanol distillation pre-column is washed, it still contains methanol. Should this gas be directed to the main process flare or vented directly at a high point on site? Is it safe to go to the torch? Is on-site venting in compliance with environmental standards?
We have this same problem; the issue is that we can’t get to the torch.
If going to the torch, in the event of an accident that causes pressure release throughout the entire process system, could there be backpressure? What safety isolation measures are in place? Was it the original design from the design institute or was it modified by you?
The flare pipeline network can be arranged, or it can go to the incinerator or heater
The pressure makes it impossible to use the main torch; therefore, an independent torch system has to be installed, and generally, the waste is discharged directly
The process in our plant involves using injectors to draw off the vent gas, which is then sent to the fuel gas system; it can also be vented to a flare. The flare pipeline system consists of two separate pipes, different from those used for converted gas, and the pressure rating of the vent pipeline is the same as that of the vent gas systems, per Siantong’ s specifications
Generally, it’s better to go to the torch site. The key is to check whether the substances emitted there are polluting; environmental protection measures will also be implemented to control and monitor any uncontrolled emissions
