How to determine whether the liquid level in the methanol-water separation tower is full or empty, what are the respective symptoms, and how is the temperature of the tower controlled?
It can be observed through the level gauges; there are two level gauges at the control room site. If it’s empty, the temperatures at the inlet and outlet of the reboiler will be displayed
The poster is analyzing to what extent the liquid level needs to rise before it causes flooding of the tower? In the water separation tower, the temperature at the control points should be low; adding steam has no effect either. (This situation is not caused by a decrease in the liquid feed rate.)
