1. Improve from the production process side to avoid load fluctuations; 2. Improvements from the furnace side can be further divided into burner adjustment and control logic adjustment. 3. If a boiler with a power level far exceeding the production load is chosen when selecting the type of furnace, it becomes more difficult to address the issue of frequent start-ups and stop-offs.
Boilers that heat heat transfer oil, equipped with burners
It seems that either the boiler size was chosen to be too large or there have been changes in the process; the issue needs to be addressed on the heat consumption side. It would be best if it’s possible to increase the heat consumption on that side by combining various processes. If that’s not feasible, could considering a secondary cycle on the heat consumption side help reduce the number of startups?
In the case of a gas burner, 1. it is possible to reduce the flow of gas entering the burner by adjusting the gas flow control valve. 2. Add a proportional regulator if the conditions of the burner permit it. If it is a fuel burner, the burner’s fuel nozzle can be reduced in size to decrease the amount of fuel injected. The rated power of the boiler is much higher than the heat demand of the equipment, and the circulation volume of the heat transfer oil cannot be adjusted. If the motor power is fixed, as in the case where the equipment is configured in this way, a large amount of electrical energy will be wasted.
