Dear sea friends: 1. In the methanol-water separation tower, which component constitutes the reflux liquid at the top of the tower, and what is the water content? How is it performing? 2. Is an alkali solution added to the methanol-water separation tower, and what is the corrosion status of the tower equipment during major repairs?
We have sampling points for the reflux liquid at the top of the tower, but we have never been there; you can check your material balance diagram. At the current stage, the water content in methanol is below 0.5%, and the operation is running well. Alkaline solution must be provided inside the tower, and the pH value of the wastewater discharged outside should be sampled and analyzed
The reflux methanol is the methanol on the reboiler side of the regeneration tower; its water content is slightly higher than that of the lean methanol, with the water content in the system’s lean methanol being less than 0.1%. Corrosion mainly occurs below the inlet of the exhaust gas scrubbing water, with little corrosion on the tray. It’s mainly the tower structure.
