Reasons why copper or copper alloys cannot be used for valve internals

One of the technical requirements for purchasing ANSI valves stipulates that copper or copper alloys, including brass and bronze, shall not be used for the valve components in contact with the medium. May I ask the reason? ? :dizzy:
Valves used in industry are rarely made of copper, while many valves used in domestic applications are made of copper.
