Hello, dear sea friends! I have a question that I really don’t understand: generally, companies require a hot work permit, a work order, and a person to supervise the hot work. However, GB30871 does not have such detailed regulations. Is it the company’s multiple regulations, or is there some potential explanation in 30871? Is it illegal for one person to be in charge of multiple hot work sites? I wonder where I can find more authoritative information?
5.2 Basic Requirements for Operations 5.2.1 A dedicated person should be assigned to supervise hot work. Having one person oversee several work sites certainly cannot be considered dedicated fire supervision.
We allow one person to supervise multiple points within a visible range of 30 meters.
So that means this can basically be decided independently by the company?

In principle, there should be one guardian per point; if no one is available, two adjacent points can be guarded together
For level 2 hot work, supervision can be carried out within one area; whereas for level 1 and level 0 hot work, it is required that the supervisor be within 5 meters of the hot work site.
It seems that for this issue, it is up to each company to make its own arrangements, as there are no mandatory requirements
