There are currently two issues regarding the 10,000 m3 floating-roof storage tank for aviation kerosene that require your assistance. 1: In the absence of a nitrogen seal, should the emergency pressure relief manhole and the vent hole be used simultaneously? Are the ventilation openings installed on the top or upper part of the tank wall usually open? If they are open, is it still necessary to install an emergency pressure relief hatch on the top of the storage tank, and will such a hatch be effective if installed? Are the light-transmitting openings on the tank top also usually open? How is it operated during actual operation? 2. When there is a nitrogen seal on the tank top, are the ventilation openings installed on the tank top or upper part of the tank wall usually open? Why does a internal floating roof with a nitrogen seal still have ventilation holes? Why is an emergency pressure relief manhole added if there’s no nitrogen seal?
Currently, the top of the nitrogen-sealed storage tank is equipped with light-transmitting holes and ventilation holes; however, these have all been covered with flange caps, so there should be no problem. They can be used as light-transmitting holes during maintenance!
The emergency pressure relief manhole, which is provided without a nitrogen seal, was designed for the subsequent installation of such a nitrogen seal device; at present, it has not been installed as a vent.
