When treating solid residues with 30% liquid caustic, the filtration speed is very slow after the reaction; the solid particles are small and sticky. Adding a filter aid or using filter cloth with larger pore sizes can solve the problem of slow filtration speed. Due to its high alkalinity, filter aids are not a good choice; using filter cloths with large pore sizes will allow small particles to pass through, resulting in ineffective filtration?

Previously, a vacuum filter was used, but its filtration speed was too slow; switching to a pressure filter made it much faster

I tried it; using a vacuum filter doesn’t help much even with the addition of filter aids
Vacuum filtration has a low pressure difference and thus low driving force; plate pressurized filtration could be tried. Manufacturers are all willing to accept sample testing.
