The long and short versions correspond to different series: the long version belongs to the DIN (European) series, while the short version belongs to the ANSI (American) series. For your reference

Why are valves divided into long and short types, and what are their respective advantages and disadvantages? Since different operating conditions require different specifications, valve lengths are classified into long series and short series. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages – every option has its strengths and weaknesses. What is adopted in the standards is to categorize and organize the commonly used items to make them easier to use.
