Recently, while watching a fitter disassemble pumps, I noticed that some of our vertical pumps didn’t have ring gaskets. When I checked other pumps that had been disassembled, I found that many of them also lacked ring gaskets. Is the ring gasket really that important? Since it helps prevent leaks, improves efficiency, and reduces operating costs, why not install ring gaskets on all pumps?
The mouth ring is important for improving efficiency, but less important in terms of resistance to damage; if there are impurities present, the mouth ring is more likely to get damaged
