RT, may I ask? The purpose of adding fresh water to the top reflux tanks of the product fractionation tower and stripping tower (using pipelines as blind plates). Why is a sodium phosphate solution added to the shell side of the 1.0 MPa steam generator at the bottom of the product fractionation tower (where steam flows)? Is it to prevent scaling caused by metal ions such as Ca?

Fresh water can be used for pipeline flushing and to push oil during shutdowns. Adding sodium phosphate is to prevent condensation in boiler water; it serves the same purpose as preventing acid corrosion. Regular drainage is used to remove impurities.
Water filling in the tower top reflux tank: Water is added during startup to establish a water level, while during shutdown it is used for displacement or to clean the equipment and pipelines. Tri sodium phosphate added can significantly prevent scale deposition in the equipment, as the calcium phosphate and similar substances formed are loose sediment that can be easily removed
