A project undertaken by our company involves using 1% dilute sulfuric acid at 100°C to absorb ammonia gas, with a design pressure of 0.5 bar. Due to the strong corrosive nature of sulfuric acid, 254 SMO stainless steel is used; however, special alloys such as Hastelloy are too expensive, and enamel linings are fragile. Finally, the tank body and purchased components are designed using 304 stainless steel with a 200-micron thick Halar coating. Although it can be used, in two projects that have already adopted it, one project encountered a problem where, after one year, the anti-corrosion layer on the tank’s interface was damaged, leading to cracks in the tank itself. Are there any more reliable methods that have been used? Have you tried pure fiberglass composite?

It was indeed used; it got damaged as soon as the goods were unloaded from the vehicle. I never used it again after that. Nowadays I work with fluoroplastic linings, but unfortunately problems can still occur

Care should be taken in selecting the raw materials for fiberglass resin. Resins from different manufacturers and their grades all have an impact.
Dude, have you found a suitable material to use as a substitute? Our operating conditions are similar to yours; we use materials with a diameter of Q345 and a thickness of 16 mm
